Using Microsoft
FrontPage to create web pages.(Note: These are
general instructions and may not apply to specific versions of
FrontPage.)
Step 1: Connect to the Internet.
Step 2: Open your FrontPage program, go to "File"
then click the "Open Web" option
When the "Open Web" dialog box comes up you will see an empty
field called "Folder Name" where you can enter your full domain
name.
Step 3: Enter your full domain name, including the
"http://" part.
Step 4: Click the "Open" button
FrontPage will work for a few seconds, then display the
"Enter Network Password" box.
Step 5: Enter your Username & Password and hit the
"Okay" button
(This is the same username and password set you were emailed
as part of your instructions, and the one you use to log in to
your control panel.) You can
click the Remember Password box if you are the only one using
the computer you are on. DO NOT do so if your computer cab be
accessed by others.
Step 6: When the site is opened you may begin
publishing your pages
You are now connected directly to the server and editing your
pages in real time. When you edit a page or create a new page
and save it, you will automatically publish it to the site.
There is no need to click the "Publish" button. If you wish to
save a copy of your web site to your computer hard drive (which
is a form of backing up) you can use the Publish button to do
so. Just follow the instructions.
Due to software legal issues, we are not able to provide
technical support for the FrontPage software. We can only verify
that the FrontPage server extensions are working correctly. If
you need assistance with your software, you will need to
contact Microsoft directly. |
